 | Together with the SFS Youth Team, SFS-TIS is a new program in SFS’s constant search for talent and development in youth - to ensure our net is cast as wide as possible to select the best youth talent for future club and eventual National Team participation. We hope this introduction of SFS-TIS will not only lead to a more thorough and transparent talent-scouting system but will also enhance the links between schools, clubs and the future Singapore Ultimate National Sports Association.
Aim of SFS-TIS:
- to better identify more outstanding young Ultimate players (primary and secondary school) and aid in their development
- to provide a wider selection base for local ultimate clubs
- to develop SFS coaches in the area of talent identification and nurturing
Process:
Primary and secondary schools will serve as the base for the initial screening and data collection
Phase I: SFS will be screening about 500 kids in the under-11 age group
Phase II: Selection of under-13 players from zonal competitions. Selected U-13 players will join the group of under-11 players from the phase I.
Phase III: Final selection from the more than 200players from 20 teams competing in the annual Junior & Youth Ultimate Tournament
Selected players will join Youth SFS and may be attached to local club teams for future development.
