Easter Weekend Beach Ultimate Tourney

6th April 2007, Good Friday. Community of Praise Baptist Church together in partnership with Singapore Frisbeesports (SFS) held their annual Beach Ultimate Frisbee Tournament for Youth at Siloso Beach, Sentosa, for the second consecutive year. The event saw a wide spectrum of young people aged from 13-28, coming from various institutions and churches.

Dragging myself up early in the morning to be a volunteer photographer for an Inter-Secondary School Invitational Frisbee (ISSI’07) tournament was not exactly how I envisioned spending my Saturday morning.

However, a promise was a promise; I did wake in the end and got myself down to Sengkang where the event was held.

After much talk, it was finally materialized - Our first SFS company dinner! Don’t think it was quite enough to express our gratitude for all of the hard work, effort and help by the coaches, instructors and support crews. However, this is just a small way to express our appreciation because more is yet to come!

Hey guys! SFS will like to share the good news of us making history again! 12th March 2007 perhaps just a normal day for some of you but to SFS and a total of 41 kids, it was definitely significant. It was the day that SFS’s held its first ever Ultimate Frisbee 1-Day camp!

After one year’s gap, Mayflower Primary was finally back into SFS’s embrace. Having just finished FIP and Little League with a new batch of students, it certainly brought back memories with it being the first ever school that I taught in. Still the same early hours, still the same challenge, for a night owl like me…

13 March 2007 Northlight School
SFS is very proud to have been invited as one of the sports service providers to educate sports to Northlight School. After a challenging 7 weeks of FIP with the students, it was a delightful educating wrap-up for the school, the students, and especially for SFS.

13 February 2007 Street Ultimate (Soft Launch)
Thanks to Henderson C.C. for being our venue partner, their community members and our very own SFS instructors, the soft launch of SFS newly introduced Street Frisbee came to a successful wrap on 4th Feb.

13 February 2007 Shuqun Sec FIP & Mini-League
Congratulations!! After 4 weeks, the first badge of 240 Secondary One participants (Class 1/1 and 1/2) from Shuqun Secondary School finally graduated from our Frisbeesports Introduction Program (FIP). Before that can happen, they had to have their “final exam” held in the form of an Inter-Class mini league The graduation ceremony was held filled with prizes, fun, laughter and encouraging speeches both from SFS and the students to each other.
